Roulette Online and your Path to a Fortune

Want to get in on the high-stakes world of online roulette? It’s much easier than you might think to join in at the gambling table, but it’s not so easy to get good at the game. Roulette is a high-risk game that’s defined by how random it can be, so there are a few things you should keep in mind before hopping online and making huge bets that could steal your entire bankroll away in a few poor gambles.

The game is understandably short. All it stakes is one round of betting and one spin of the wheel to complete a game. All you do is place your chips (or electronic bets if played online) on numbers that you want to play. These can be either single numbers, groups of numbers, colors (black and red) or whether you think it will be an even or odd number. You’re then given your money, and can either bet again or walk away (if you’re successful, that is; otherwise your bet goes to the house).

There are a few terms you might want to know if you want to read about roulette in more advanced articles beyond this one:

European: Obviously the European version of the game; it only has 37 slots.

American: Again, obviously, the American variant; it has 38 slots, the final being a double zero.

Orphans: Betting on three numbers that appear side by side on the wheel yet are not side by side on the betting board itself.

En Prison: Allowing the better to leave the wheel with a part of their wager still intact.

Neighbors of Zero: The numbers between 22 and 25; bettors place their wagers on each of these numbers in order to maximize their chances of hitting any of them.

The Third: Those numbers that are opposite the Neighbors of Zero, generally those numbers between 27 and 33.

XX and Neighbors: Plays similar to the last two terms, though xx is replaced with whichever number you want. It’s just playing on that number and its immediate neighbors to maximize the chance of a payoff.
