Go With Baccarat and Bet It All

Baccarat. Not many people will have heard of the game, not if they’re not heavy-duty into gambling and card-playing. It’s one of the staples of casino gambling, so much so that millions of dollars routinely pass back and forth at the baccarat table on any given night at any brick and mortar casino. Given how much money is at stake rooms wherein this game is played are usually sheltered behind velvet ropes, and can prove stymieing to the average gambler looking to try to get in on the game.

Luckily for those gamblers there’s a much easier and rewarding way to play baccarat, and that’s online. Many online casinos out there offer both free and for-money games that can provide you with hours of entertainment and, potentially, fill your bank account up as well.

The aim of the game is simple: the player who gets closest to a total value of nine with their cards wins. Doesn’t get much easier than that, right?

Wrong. There’s more to the game. Read on.

Both the dealer and the player receive two cards. If either have cards that value less than four then that player receives another card. You then total the two sets of cards against one another, and the player with the superior number comes out on top.

Yet again it’s still not that simple. If you have after two cards, say, a five and a jack, you’ll only have a set worth five points. You technically can’t go over in this game. Why? Because the first number is automatically shaved off the front of your total value. You can’t have an amount over 9 points. Therefore, if you get three cards worth 10 in a row you’ll pretty much automatically lose.

Sound too chancy? You can change that a bit in the betting. Online play allows you to choose whose hand you want to bid on: yours or the dealer’s. Or, if you like, you can even bet that they’ll tie, and though this is extremely unlikely to happen you’ll get a lot of money if your bet goes through.
